Calyx modified into an operculum; operculum horn-shaped.
Stamens numerous, in several whorls; anthers dithecal.
Ovary inferior; ovule placentation axile.
Fruit:
Fruit hemispherical or campanulate; crowded; 7–14 mm long; 6–13 mm wide; valves 3; exserted.
Seeds numerous.
